50 States, 50 Letters Challenge

A USA Today article states that an “annual rate of 17 per 100,000″ soldiers have committed suicide while in Iraq. The Washington Post published an article in the beginning of this year, saying that in 2007, one hundred and twenty-one soldiers committed suicide. That accounts for 13% of US casualties last year, according to the stats at iCasualties. Many of our men and women suffer from PTSD and depression. Can you imagine being in a foreign country, without a bed to sleep on, facing the possibility of death daily?

Our men and women need something to look forward to. A quick letter can lift their spirits and make it a little easier to be out there.

Join us on the 50 States, 50 Letters Challenge and help Letters of Love send a letter to a soldier from each state.

Any Soldier® has been helping civilians and soldiers connect since 2004. The website gives us at home the ability to make our soldiers’ days.

Using Any Solder’s® collection of soldiers’ addresses, find a soldier from your state and request their address. A short letter about the weather, events or anything else about their state will help them feel a little more connected to home.

Please reply to this to claim a state! Please do not claim a state or request a soldier’s address if you will not be able to send them a letter. Our goal is to send at least one letter to a soldier from each state.
