Inspired by PostSecret and I Can Collage, the second Letters of Love Chain Letter will be the Secrets Collage Chain Letter (see this post for more information). Pen pals participating will add a few pieces to the collage relating to a secret that they would like to get off their chest. The secret can be silly or serious, and the pieces they add to the collage can be anything. You do not have to actually tell your secret if you don’t want to; you can just add pieces to represent what you are feeling.

Sometimes creating a piece of art can be therapeutic. I created my own postcard after reading about PostSecrets, inspired by the work at I Can Collage. My postcard became a collage of my feelings about my secret, and after I made it I actually felt a lot better. I didn’t mail my postcard, but making it and being able to look at it is very helpful. Hopefully, this chain letter can do the same for those of us who participate.

The Secrets Collage went out on Monday, May 12th 2008.
