Greeting Card Challenge

This time of year is usually the hardest for most people. For some — like me — it’s because there are less daytime hours (I am a total sun-addict). For others, it’s because the holidays are coming up. The shorter days and upcoming holidays can cause us to feel stressed, lonely, bitter, or blue (read an article about Seasonal Affective Disorder). I tend to get stressed right around this time because midterms are coming up, the days are shorter and colder, and of course the holidays are coming up and money is tight.

Rats. Nobody sent me a Christmas card today. I almost wish there weren’t a holiday season. I know nobody likes me. Why do we have to have a holiday season to emphasize it? –Charlie Brown

A card saying something as simple as “have a great day” or “happy holidays” could mean the world to someone. It’s a small act but it says, “you matter”. While we can’t send poor Charlie Brown a card, we can certainly send them to each other!

This season’s challenge is to decorate a greeting card for someone. That someone could be a pen pal, a friend, a relative or a stranger.

Once you’ve created some greeting cards, why not show them off before you send them out? Post your photos in the Community and show off your skills. You can also share your card-making tips and tricks in the Greeting Card Challenge forum.

If you can’t make or buy any greeting cards, use the form below and we will mail some to you. We have a limited supply of handmade greeting cards so requests are fulfilled at a first-come, first-served basis.
